Chief Mrs Kate Anolue to receive women of honour award on Divas of colour 2015.


imageChief Kate Anolue, was a Labour Councillor for 12years, representing Upper Edmonton in London Borough of Enfield and chaired many Scrutiny Panels and Committee Groups.
Kate was the first Nigerian Mayor in London Borough of Enfield 2012/2013, and she raised fund for Sickle cell, young people leaving care and disabled children in her Mayoral year.

Since standing down last May she has dedicated her time in promoting her Charity
“TenderCare” which caters for young teenage mothers and fathers, widows and lone women. Also her other Organisation “FAWP” (Forum for African, Afro-Caribbean and Asian Women in Politics) which aims to inspire and empower women in political awareness.

As a midwife with over 30years experience, Kate has helped deliver hundreds of babies into the world.
Kate felt that she needed to be more socially aware, hence she under took a five years part time law studies and later crowned her academic success with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB). This was the persuasive reason why she became a politician.

Widowed 29 years ago, and left with four young children, 5yrs, 9yrs, 12yrs and the youngest 18months old. All are graduates today and it proved that no matter the adversity, single or no single, if you are determined and believe in yourself, with perseverance, you can make it.

Kate is a school governor of two schools, Raynham and Wilbury Primary, thus giving her the opportunity of taking part in the decision making for the education of our future generation.

She was conferred with “Freedom of the London Borough of Enfield in 2007, for her community work.
In 2008 she was made a Chieftain in her home town and was conferred with the title “Ada Jelu Mba Tulu Ugo” it means “Our daughter that went to a foreign land and brought us glory”

Among her many awards were, GAB Award 2013, Winner of The Nigerian Watch Newspaper “Woman of the Year 2014”, Nigerian Centenary Award UK 2014 and BEFFTA Award 2014.

Kate dedicates much of her achievement to God and the two men in her life, her late father, and her late husband, for the remarkable role they played in her life, both men believed in gender equality and education for girls.
