The Maze: A Self Re-discovery guide

Book Release Alert: The Maze; A Self Re-discovery guide by Ijeoma Amazin

The Maze: Young, defiled, broken, mocked, confused. Author details her ordeal with abuse and coming out of the maze.

The Maze: A Self Re-discovery guide
London, United Kingdom, 01/12/2017: The Maze: A self Re-discovery guide: Author uses her own story to guide young people on a self-discovery journey in the book due out on 18th December 2017.

For the author, they were wasted years going through the maze of exploitation and abuse before the very eyes of those who were meant to protect her. But, ignorance and tradition has little or nothing for a girl child betrayed again and again, as she falls into the maze with no way out.

Based on true story, the Nigerian born author of the book, The Maze: A re-discovery guide, details her ordeal as a young woman who would be given to a would be older man for marriage by her parents. A tradition that still holds many young women to ransom in places. Ijeoma Amazin’ tells a tale of her journey of abuse, rejection, defilement, lost and wasted years. A journey which left her scarred for years and would rob her of her life purposes.

Now an accomplished social care professional, a singer and saved by the Lord, she no longer feels shame, living above victimhood, she bravely has written this classic guide aimed at helping young people and parents of young girls on how to protect their lives and be successful in all areas of their lives.

She said, “God chooses the ‘unqualified’ to His own glory. His blessings are usually found in unexpected places – You. The question is, are you prepared to be used?

As you walk through your journey to self-rediscovery, I want you to see this book as, a spirit led manual to guide you out of the maze of life. A daily guide to help you discover the God in you. Your talent, your power, strength and your life purpose.”

Amazin’ Ijeoma Paul-Nweze is a music Minister, singer, song writer, actress and a dancer. She is also a young people’s Coach, mentor, housing professional, customer service representative and a Christian Counsellor.

Graduating from The University of Greenwich with outstanding performance in Housing Studies and obtaining her Master’s degree in Nouthetic Christian Counselling Graduate from the Minnesota School of Graduate, London Campus, she is also a qualified CMI (Chattered Management Institute) Coach & Mentor. She is the founder of Amazin’Dizcoveriez mentorship and Angel’s Cry youth project (platforms for discovering, coaching and mentoring young people).

The Maze has been described by Pearlwoman Magazine as, “An awesome guide through life’s dark tunnels, an eye opener for everyone.”

Ijeoma has used her personal journey to encourage the readers, to understand that whatever life throws at you, whatever frustrations, lost years, disappointments and trials, you are going through, you will find your way out of the maze. The darkness won’t be long before you see the light again. As you continue to put one foot forward with the guide in this book, you will finally manifest your GREATNESS!

Laban Roomes to receive ICON Recognition at C. Hub magazine Creativity Award.

Laban Roomes to receive ICON Recognition at C. Hub magazine Creativity Award.
Laban Roomes

London, 30/06/2016. Laban Roomes has been confirmed to be recognised with an Icon award for his bravery and outstanding creativity in enterprise .

In October of 2007, Laban pitched his gold-plating technology, Goldgenie – and market traction – live on the BBC investment pitching programme ‘Dragon’s Den’. He successfully acquired funding, as well as new guidance in James Caan, founder of recruitment organisation Alexander Mann, executive head-hunting firm Humana International and private equity company Hamilton Bradshaw. Laban had also made a lifelong friend and business partner. In 2012 and wanting to expand the business in a different direction Laban made a brave move and purchased all of his shares back from James Caan making himself 100% owner of Goldgenie again.

The highly-acclaimed entrepreneur and founder of international luxury gift and gold customisation business Goldgenie is also an active social philanthropist.
Born and raised in East London to parents of Jamaican descent, Laban aspired to entrepreneurial work from the moment he started school. From the age of nine, he set up his own business cleaning cars, cutting hedges: anything to bring in some extra money to support his family.
At age twelve, Laban was already bringing home more from his out-of-school revenue streams than his mother earned through her full-time position at a local factory. By the time he was nineteen, Laban had paid off the mortgage on his family’s home and established an international business exporting vehicles to Jamaica.
Being no stranger to adversity Laban, while touring the USA, family circumstances forced his business partner to liquidate the export business’ assets. He returned home to the UK with £80 in his pocket and no prospect of a roof over his head. For nine months – while sleeping on a friend’s floor – he worked tirelessly to realise an entrepreneurial vision that had struck him in the States. In 1995, Goldgenie was born.
Laban designed and manufactured an innovative gold-plating process: one which is still at the heart of Goldgenie’s work today. Among his first clients were Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Honda, Toyota and Lexus, who rapidly adopted Goldgenie as their go-to provider for luxury vehicle detailing, emblems and interior aesthetic elements.
Gradually, Laban expanded Goldgenie’s activities to encompass a wide range of consumer-facing industries: telecommunications, jewellery, sports gear, home hardware: his pioneering gold-plating technique saved suppliers huge sums of money, while maintaining the quality necessary in the highest-end luxury products. His growing fame earned him an invite to distribute Goldgenie’s products at the 2006 Emmy awards in America, exclusive rights to the plating of Hindu artefacts in a London temple, and the acclaim and mentorship of Yo! Sushi founder Simon Woodroffe (OBE).

Since then Laban Roomes has attended and supplied luxury gifts in person to the Oscars, created luxury ranges of iPods and iPhones for a host of celebrities such as the Beckhams, Floyd Money Mayweather, Usain Bolt, Mark Wahlburg, Clint Eastwood and Will Smith, to mention just a few.

The company has also launched initiatives and campaigns to raise money through donating a percentage of the company’s luxury gift sales to raise much needed cash for several charities including the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF) the Teenage Cancer TRUST and SOS Children’s Villages.
Laban has also gone on to win the Great British Entrepreneur, the coveted Lloyds TSB – FSB Entrepreneur of the year award and been accredited by the British jewellers association for the luxury Gold embellished gifts and devices his company sells.

Lately, Laban has focused his energies on franchising Goldgenie abroad, as well as mentoring younger entrepreneurs and start-ups (who he has referred to as “the lifeblood of industry and commerce”) and as Laban describes in his own words “Not everyone has the willpower to consistently inspire themselves, everyone needs in their life at least one person who believes in them, that can help unlock their true potential”.
Speaking of his receiving CA award ICON recognition, Laban said, “It’s always good to be recognised for your hard work and the positive effect it has had on others and your environment. I receive this recognition with love and dedicate it to all the entrepreneurs out there who have had the courage to take their destiny into their own hands and thrive.”

Faustina Anyanwu, C. Hub magazine Editor in Chief said, “CA award is not just and award. It is a movement to search out the BEST of the best within our communities. This is the surest way to inspire and encourage innovation and creativity. People like Laban brings the rhetorics of ‘anything you can conceive you can achieve. His profile and this recognition will not only inspire our younger ones but will also create a sense of pride and esteem. Press Release: Norwell Roberts QPM to receive legend recognition at CA award 2016.

For Immediate release.

Norwell Roberts QPM to receive legend recognition at CA award 2016.

Norwell Roberts 2
London, 24/06/2016. Norwell Roberts QPM to receive CA award legend recognition

C. Hub magazine today announces the decision to award Norwell Roberts with the highest category of the Creativity Award, Legend award in recognition and honour of his selfless and long dedication to the safety of the Community and his determination to pave way for the next generation.

Roberts has been associated with several firsts. He is the first black police officer to join the Metropolitan Police, first black member of the CID, the first black officer to serve 30 years, the first black undercover officer and the first black police officer to be awarded the Queen’s Police Medal.

Roberts also ran an attendance centre in Mill Hill for young offenders on weekends. Roberts has lectured at Universities, schools and colleges around the UK.

Roberts received police commendations on three occasions, one of which was for his involvement in 1985 when he was part of a squad who arrested five people in six days for a contract killing. Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Robert Mark praised Roberts’ contribution towards better relations between white and black communities.

Mr Norwell subsequently was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for distinguished service in 1995.

On 15 March 1996, Roberts attended Buckingham Palace where he was presented with the medal by Prince Charles. During the presentation, Prince Charles told Roberts that , “We need more people like you.”

Despite stiff challenges and racism, Mr Norwell’s determination was never shaken. When he made the decision to join the Metropolitan Police in 1967, aged 21, Roberts became a target of both public and media scrutiny. He became the most conspicuous officer and his every move would make headlines .

Receiving the news of his appointment to receive the highest recognition at the prestigious C. Hub magazine Creativity Award which celebrates and recognises the best talent and contributions of African and Caribbean creatives globally; he said, “I am indeed humbled by your decision to present me with this award. I was at Hendon Training School on Friday 10th of June, at the Last Passing out Parade and was so pleased to be approached by many Black and Asian Officers of all ranks who wanted to meet me knowing that I was the first Black Man to join the Metropolitan Police in 1967.

As you can imagine it was not easy. I had to succeed, because I had to prove to myself and others too that one can attain and achieve whatever they want by resilience and determination whilst in the face of severe adversity. I would like to thank those who suggested me for consideration.
I really look forward to the occasion.”

Emeka Anyanwu C. Hub magazine publisher and the awards organiser said, “We are extremely glad to have Norwell Roberts to be one of our highest award recognition recipients this year. He is the epitome of what CA award stands for. C. Hub magazine Creativity Award is the most prestigious platform to thoroughly reflect, recognise, celebrate and highlight the great talent and creativity of African and Caribbean men and women. This cannot be overstated how talented and the immense contributions that people of African and Caribbean make in the betterment of our world which are often overlooked and brushed aside. We can no longer wait by the side hoping that anyone else should take the responsibility of giving our people a pat on the back.”
