What is Protect the Child campaign ?

Every year, Divas of colour chooses a cause and charities to support. Over the next 8 months, Divas of colour will continue to help these charities to raise awareness on the need to protect the children as well as raise funds for them.  Our last campaign raised £400 for depression Alliance . This season, our chosen charities are Girl Child Network Worldwide and Star Children Initiative.  More about the charities are below.

What can your donation do?

Since its formation Girl Child Network Zimbabwe rescued over 70,000 girls from rape and supported their healing, empowerment and building them into confident young women. With the other programs the organisation facilitated leadership training as well as education support for over 300,000 girls over a period of ten years.

Since last year, Star Children Initiative has provided 40 wheelchairs, 30 crutches, 20 white canes for visually impaired students, 6 typewriters for the blind. They have also been training parents of disabled children as well as their healthcare providers.

These charities are doing tremendous works and your donations will help them reach the children in the grassroots .

Our target with this campaign is £2000. If  100 people donated £20 or if 20 people donated £100 today, this fundraising will be an easy ride. However we welcome any amount of donation.
